Hello, Arizona Cardinals fans, and welcome to the latest edition of the Rise Up CRED podcast, the best start of Cardinals talk on the web.

I'm your host, Jess Root from CardsWire.com, USA Today's NFL Wire site that, of course, covers your Arizona Cardinals.

Joining me is my co-host from Revenge of the Birds, SB Nation's Arizona Cardinals site Seth Cox as we episode 827 are recording we've got two quick shows we're going to do the first of which this one is about the Marvin Harrison trade that seemed to be building out of chatter chatter chatter chatter chatter and rumors chatter and rumors then suddenly man there was a report that there was going to be a trade but that The team and compensation wasn't known, just that Marv wasn't going to play.

Then it was reported one way as soon as the Texans finished their game just before the Cardinals kicked off against the Lions.

And then today, in fact, just a few minutes ago before we started recording this, the terms were a little bit different than the original report.

Quick rundown to what we know is that suddenly after Monty Austin Fort Friday was asked about Marvin Harrison Jr. being traded, that we're going to pay no attention to that stuff, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

Suddenly Saturday comes the report from Adam Schefter and Ian Rappaport saying that There is an imminent trade.

The Cardinals have already told Marv that he was not going to play on Sunday, that he was going to be inactive despite practicing all week, blah, blah, blah.

And... that a trade was imminent and the Houston Texans were considered to be in the mix, but that things weren't finalized.

Marv to the Houston Texans with a seventh round pick in exchange for a 2026 second round pick and sixth round pick.

So they get the Cardinals in with the trade of Marv and Harrison, get a second-round pick, and then move back a round in week – on day three of the 20-27 draft.

Seth, if we're just reacting to how things went down – What was your reaction to everything leading up to it, the rumors, the initial weird way to report, and then the final report and the change of the report?

Yeah, I think the initial thing is your reaction is what the hell are they doing, right? Like not necessarily trading him.

I mean, you and I are going to have our opinions on the trade itself, you know, whether we like it or not.

what the hell are you doing not knowing or not really confirming who you're trading with under the guise of we might get something better in the interim like that's a weird way to do things and then on top of that you look at There was some chatter on the other side, you know, so coming from the Houston Texans slant of things, that they may be the ones that if they don't win yesterday which they did by quite a bit but if they don't win yesterday that they may be the ones pulling out of the deal because at oh and five instead of one and four it doesn't make sense for them to make this move Um, obviously it worked out.

So in the end, we're having a conversation about, uh, you know, a what if scenario, but I've never seen business done that way in my life.
