I’ve been a relationship guy almost my entire adult life. Most people haven’t been in committed relationships or marriages for almost all of their lives. I’ve been single for about a year in the past…
So that brings me to the topic of the conversation today.
We laugh at fucking everything.
Maya and I have been together almost 15 years.
If we are both fortunate enough to survive till December 9th, that is our 15 year anniversary of our first date.
And.
That's our together day, because we hung out the next night after that.
I made spaghetti for our kids the second night.
Third night, I came back over to her house.
I had roommates at the time, a couple.
I mean, like they were a couple, romantic couple, David and Heather.
So I liked living with them and everything, but it wasn't much for privacy in a small two-bedroom, one-bathroom or two-bathroom apartment.
So we'd hang out at Mai's house.
So after about four or five nights, I think the fifth night, I was like, hey, I don't want to be a weirdo or anything, but if you need a night off, I am fine with that.
I would prefer to be here with you.
But if not, I don't want you to think that, hey, all of a sudden I just decided I was moving in and sleeping over every night because I didn't know how she felt about it.
I could tell she liked me and vice versa.
And, you know, that new time when it's very fun and exciting.
And yeah, so she told me right away, she goes, no, she goes, I honestly don't need a night off unless you want one.
She said that I have never been this comfortable around somebody brand new that I started dating in my life.
And I said, I know the feeling.
I get what you're saying.
And I said, it's all just like we've known each other kind of for a long time because all we do is laugh and joke around.
And then, you know, the romantic stuff is good, too.
So she but that's really what we knew right from the beginning.
We never spent another night apart after our first date.
