*I struggle with patience. Though I’m grateful for my life, family, and career, there are times when I feel bad about not being patient enough to achieve what I’m working toward.* It’s difficult when…
Like I said, we grew up in Bend, uh, for at least a few years, and I was very familiar with what the layout of the town is.
I'd heard of that school that got, uh, that had the mass shooting yesterday.
Three kids died, uh, an adult, and then it sounded like a bystander with a gun stopped the teenager, killed him from...
And in theory, stopped him from killing more people, so that's good.
Um, but yeah, Jesus Christ.
There are families now that don't have their, uh, I don't know if the person killed, the adult, was it a parent or not, but they were somebody's child.
Um, and then three children.
I don't know if that's two plus the shooter.
But, you know, those families are all mourning the loss of their children.
And I start thinking about things.
I-- This is funny.
I was on the phone with Mrs. Mouthy, and I knocked something over in the bathroom while I had her on speakerphone, and we were saying goodbye right when I did it, so I wasn't sure if she had hung up yet.
I didn't really think twice about it.
I'm careful, you know, ass down.
Don't lift with your legs, not with your back, right? But I get irrationally angry about it, and I admit I have a temper to some degree.
I never, uh, direct it toward my family, ever.
It's just situational.
If I drop something or if something happens, or I'm walking Mooch and she's dragging behind and I yank her collar off and suddenly she's free range Mooch, and I'm like, "Oh, shit, come here.
Goddammit." You know, I just have these tendencies to lose my temper briefly and then check myself and be like, "Okay, well, it's not that big a deal.
Calm down." [laughs] You know what I mean? I haven't evolved enough to where I don't get angry about stupid bullshit, little small things, but at the same time, I don't, you know, direct it towards others, I don't let it ruin my day.
It really is just a momentary thing, and then I'm like, "Ah, Jesus, ca- calm down.
You don't need stress.
You don't need to have a heart attack over this shit." You know what I mean? So it made me think, though, I'm like, there are so many people that go through far worse shit than we do, and would trade us in a second for our situational thing.
