They That Wait Upon The Lord

This week in Black Excellence we're gonna be giving it over to the one and only Grace Jones.

"Oh, period, what did Grace Jones do?" Just be Grace Jones.

I don't...

That's it.

We watched Boomerang on Patreon, uh, last week.

It's the first time I'd seen it since college.

Oh, wow.

And, um, really rewatching it, you know what? I didn't remember a lot of it.

What I did remember is every scene with Eartha Kitt and Grace Jones in it, and those hold up in a mighty way.

Grace Jones is absolutely impeccable, on fire, gorgeous, talented, perfect.

And you know what? Eartha Kitt as well.

Yeah, icon.

Gonna go ahead and toss Eartha Kitt into Black Excellence as well, because for the, the listeners at home who are like, "Oh, I'm 22.

I started listening to y'all when I was three."

[laughs]

Get in.

Mm.

Okay? Grace Jones, "Oh, you mean the lady from Renaissance?" See, I will fight you, and that's why I'll fight you.

Mm-hmm, yeah.

So get into these names.

Ask your mama about them, unless your mom is, you know, 30.

Then I guess you should ask your grandma.

And, um, yeah, the perfection that is Eartha Kitt, outside of even that role and being the Catwoman, um, lots of hot takes and bits about life and, uh, same with Grace Jones.

So that's it.

That's my Black Excellence for the week.
