The Battle for the American Right: Why Is Anti-Israel Sentiment Growing?

Something significant is happening inside the American conservative movement, and Israelis and Jews around the world need to understand it.I spoke with Matt Peterson at Yoram Hazony’s National Conservatism Conference in Jerusalem for an important deep-dive conversation about the growing anti-Israel sentiment, and, in some circles, outright Jew-hating antisemitism, emerging on parts of the American right. For decades, many Jews assumed that support for Israel from American conservatives was rock solid. But the political landscape is changing. Why are some younger conservatives questioning America’s relationship with Israel? How much of this shift is legitimate criticism of American foreign policy, and where does it cross the line into demonization of Israel or antisemitism? What role are influencers, social media, isolationism and the evolving “America First” movement playing? And perhaps most importantly: How should Israel respond?Matt Peterson and I dig into the ideological battle taking place inside the American right and why Israelis cannot afford to dismiss it. And how Israel today actually represents much of what conservative Americans believe it, but are misinformed. Israel should never base its survival on popularity in Washington, or anywhere else. A sovereign Jewish state must make decisions according to the security and national interests of the Jewish people. But America remains Israel’s most important ally, and understanding the forces reshaping American conservatism matters. This conversation is not about attacking conservatives. Quite the opposite. It is about understanding a serious debate taking place within a movement that has historically been strongly supportive of Israel and confronting dangerous trends before they become mainstream.Watch this conversation. Share it with Americans and Israelis. This is a debate we need to understand now.Am Yisrael Chai!Join Our Whatsapp Channel: https://chat.whatsapp.com/GkavRznXy731nxxRyptCMv Follow us on Twitter: https://x.com/AviAbelow Join our Telegram Channel: https://t.me/aviabelowpulse Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/pulse\of\israel/?hl=en Pulse of Israel on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/IsraelVideoNetwork Visit Our Website - https://pulseofisrael.com/ Donate to Pulse of Israel: https://pulseofisrael.com/boost-this-video/
