Dan Dos Santos Interview: The Official Cover Artist of Mercy Thompson & Alpha and Omega

Okay.

That's awesome.

Uh, couple bits of news.

Um, uh, Hasna, you wanna talk about, um-

Yes

... what's coming up?

Well, finally we have a title for the seventh Alpha and Omega book, it, which is called, um, Still Rain, and it will be out on the 20th of April, 2027.

And Patty i- at the moment is still editing, um, the manuscript, so hopefully we'll, we'll h- um, have more further details down the line.

But yep.

Okay.

Also, um, another note, um, because mass-markets, um, paperbacks are being phased out, um, the, um, Still Rain will first be released as hardback, but the following year it'll be in a trade paperback edition.

So the, it'll be slightly, a bit different from the mass m- market editions before.

End of an era, I guess.

Yes.

Wow.

But-

I had not heard that.

Yeah, publishers are moving away from mass market editions now, so a lot of, um, books have been re- reissued, like backlist books have been re- reissued, um, as they go out of print, so as, um, trade paperback.

So yeah, definitely end of an era.

Um, I just noticed we talked last month about the fact that, um, uh, Jim Butcher's latest, uh, novella, uh, was coming out, and I saw it in the bookstore here the other day, and it's paperback as well.

Um, which kind of surprised me just a little bit.

Well, trade paperback, not mass market.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.
