Hellboy

Given Dark Horse's extremely deep bench of titles, it's an odd mix to launch with, nothing against any of them in particular, but The Goon seems like a no-brainer, as does Black Hammer.

However, the lack of, say, Sin City, Umbrella Academy, Hellboy, or even Usagi Yojimbo is a bit surprising.

Not to mention they could have thrown in some of the older, beloved licensed properties, or perhaps concrete, given the new series is currently hitting stores.

Regardless, there's much more to come.

I read Sin City.

I read Hellboy.

I read Dark Horse Presents.

Was Grendel Dark Horse?

Oh, yes.

I'm glad I didn't try Concrete [laughs] when I was 10, 11, 12.

In the '90s when I was reading Sin City and Grendel and Hellboy, this would've been like, "What is happening? I don't like this." So I'm glad I f- I discovered it much, much, much, much, much later.

But I liked the c- more comedic ones, or, like, w- the one where he gets tricked into going to the kid's birthday party by the mom who lies to him and...

Absolutely.

Hellboy all the way.

So, I mean, it's got some milking minotaur vibes now that I think about it.

Oh, no.

And I'm okay with the fact that you grow and you build muscle memory and you get to know the shapes and the forms.

you know what I'm really critical of myself with that but I'm so lenient when I see it in other artists like my favorite artist is probably hands down Mike Mignola and his first Hellboy book looks nothing like his last Hellboy book like The dude was just figuring out, hell boy, every issue, every story.

He's like, well, he's going to have a bigger jaw now.

He's going to have slumpier shoulders.

Yeah.

Next one I want to talk about is Hellboy in Hell, Parade of Horrors from Mike Mignola and Mark Laszlo.

Hellboys search for a drink in hell, lead through a cemetery to a macabre procession in honor of Satan's death.

But the demons are not all so happy after their lord was murdered.

Final order cutoff is November 9th, and this will be in shots December 16th.
