The El Nino, which is currently heating up the planet, has hit the highest temperatures ever recorded for an El Nino several months before it was expected to peak.

We're talking about right in the heart of the Pacific Ocean, the temperature hit 3.05 Celsius.

That's higher than the previous high of 3.02 Celsius in November 2015.

And we're getting some action on vet bills.

Written prescription fees from vets is going to be capped at £21.

You get like 25 degrees in the summer and you get minus, I guess, 10, 15, 20 minus.

And that's why there's fisheries there.

There's local communities that are buzzing and growing and it's been there for thousands of years because it's actually a pretty decent place to live.

And I guess the light is what sets it apart from the rest of Norway.

And for me, actually, I can tell a little story.

I went like a couple of years ago, me and my wife and my kids, we were like on holiday in July in Southern Norway and the weather in Southern Norway was like, It was 13 degrees Celsius and windy and rainy and I was like, oh, this isn't really summer.

So you want it to go – the safety numbers are rather – They're like a little extreme.

In other words, like they start the clock as like as soon as it goes below like 60 Celsius, which is like 140.

But in reality, nothing is really starting to grow in there until it goes below about 50 Celsius, which I don't even know what that is in Fahrenheit.

Right.

But it's not really growing until it kind of goes below that temperature.

My parents always protected me because at this moment, you know, 45 years ago or 50 years ago, it was very dangerous to disclose that your child is very different.

When I was sick, my temperature in Celsius was 45 or 46 degree.

You know, so we can go to the hospital on when I bleed.

It wasn't red.

So, you know, and of course this is American medicine, 98.6 Fahrenheit.

You know, if you're in Celsius, then it's going to be different.

But if, you know, I was doing this talk in Australia and I'm like, 98.6 degrees is the healthy temperature.

And everybody looked at me like I had five heads.

Uh, just, uh, just as it pertains to what ICECAP did, and I think it will s- kind of the juxtaposition will set the stage a little bit.

So this was a randomized control trial of 1,900 adults who had coma after an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest of a presumed cardiac or unknown cause to undergo hypothermia to 33 degrees Celsius, followed by controlled rewarming or targeted normothermia with early treatment for fever.

So this cooling protocol was 28 hours of being cool, and then 12 hours rewarming, so a 40-hour total duration of cooling.

This normothermia w- wasn't just usual care, right? So they had this early avo- early avoidance of fever.

They were targeting 37.5, and if you got to 37.8 degrees Celsius, they would use surface or internal catheters or some sort of cooling device to make sure that you didn't actually get a fever, and they tried- they maintained normothermia for 72 hours, um, after the, after enrollment.

So that was the intervention and control group there.

Todd, you had already mentioned that this is a neutral trial.

Yeah, for sure.

Yeah.

I guess, you know, referring temperature and Celsius, also another best Trek trope.

Just, you know, their full metric system, all that stuff.

Well, that is a very good question.

It got, I think, at its highest, it was like, well, I would say it's 34 degrees Celsius because my brain works in Celsius these days.

Sure.

And so that was I mean, I as a girl that grew up in Florida, I thought I was used to the heat and that I could handle any temperature and then live over here since 2002.

Like, that's just 30 degrees

Celsius, that is.

Is it the metric system? I actually don't know what Celsius versus Fahrenheit is.

But I'm sticking with it.
