They also used it in The Sorcerer's Apprentice, which I actually like that movie.
Anthony WilliamsHOST
26:06
It's been a long time since I saw it.
Anthony WilliamsHOST

So just to get back to the plot for a second...
Dan ViensHOST
13:57
First movie I ever saw as a kid in the theater, animated film, Disney.
Dan ViensHOST
14:01
It was called The Sorcerer's Apprentice.
Dan ViensHOST
14:05
And I think that's a storyline that should not get lost this week.
Dan ViensHOST
14:08
It's Brian Fleury, only four games under his belt, calling plays in the NFL, going up against his mentor, the best in the league.
Erika LanceHOST
41:10
I have one more runner-up too before we do our number ones.
Mark MuncyHOST
41:13
Okay, this is a Nic Cage, The Sorcerer's Apprentice from 2010.
Mark MuncyHOST
41:19
A terrible, terrible movie on every level except that Nic C- Cage is playing this modern sorcerer, and he needs to find an apprentice to fight a witch.
Mark MuncyHOST
41:32
It is so effects heavy.
Mark MuncyHOST
41:33
It's another inspired by Disney classic.
Mark MuncyHOST
41:37
You know, the Sorcerer's Apprentice had nothing to do with that.
Mark MuncyHOST
41:41
It is a Disney movie.
Erika LanceHOST
41:42
The Apprentice is one of the funniest actors out there-
Jackie WongHOST
66:24
Hogehto
Michelle EllisHOST

... well, at least that's what he told me many years ago when he was in the Nationals Gala and we showed him, when he was, had like a, a pa- a cauldron and he was doing like The Sorcerer's Apprentice.
Jackie WongHOST
66:33
Yes.
Michelle EllisHOST
66:33
Yeah, he's a, he's an interesting kid.
TomPANELIST
3:06
And, I don't know, our favourite Disney characters.
TomPANELIST
3:13
I think the Mickey Mouse from The Sorcerer's Apprentice.
TomPANELIST
3:18
I think I liked him.
TomPANELIST
3:19
Because he's like, ah, just use magic to make things easier.
Scott SwitzerHOST
25:41
Sure.
Scott SwitzerHOST
25:42
One of my favorite movies of all time, and it's not well liked or received or whatever, but I don't care, is The Sorcerer's Apprentice.
Scott SwitzerHOST
25:52
Okay.
Scott SwitzerHOST
25:54
The old Disney movie with Nick Cage.
MadiHOST
25:24
He's probably going to make a three and a four.
MadiHOST
25:25
Maybe we'll get another Sorcerer's Apprentice.
MeganHOST
25:29
Oh, that's a deep cut.
MeganHOST
25:31
Forgot about that.
NerdyHOST
52:59
Face Off.
NerdyHOST
53:01
I've seen Sorcerer's Apprentice.
NerdyHOST
53:03
That was trash.
NerdyHOST
53:04
That movie's not good.
Naomi KleinGUEST
6:13
And Donald Trump's like, I'm not ready.
Naomi KleinGUEST
6:15
This is the thing that I was really struck this morning thinking about was like, And they are seemingly determined to fulfill all of these myths, Prometheus and Sorcerer's Apprentice and Frankenstein.
Naomi KleinGUEST
6:35
It's like, oh, I built the monster.
Naomi KleinGUEST
6:36
It's out of my control.
Tom CorlessHOST
21:45
I'm gonna budget cut us a little, but I think story-wise it makes sense.
Tom CorlessHOST
21:49
As much as I really wanna see an animatronic Mickey Mouse, like in Steamboat Willie, I think to properly frame the story of the Walt Disney Company beginning in cartoon shorts and then expanding into live action, I think you start on a small screen that's like the size of what a cinema screen would have been at that time, and you show these humble beginnings, and then as the scenes open up, you get into the grandeur of the Mary Poppins rooftop scene, and you showcase how the company has grown since its humble roots.
Eric MortonHOST
22:23
Now, some of these I'm not going to go strictly in order of year.
Eric MortonHOST
22:26
I'm going to try to sort of show an evolution.

6 MINS LATER

Eric MortonHOST
28:14
Right?
Tom CorlessHOST
28:18
Yeah.
Eric MortonHOST
28:21
So that could be Edward Scissorhands, or we could fill that with one of your scenes.
Eric MortonHOST
28:25
And as much as it pains me, and I don't know what we could do rights-wise, you could do some sort of Avengers ending if you use the right characters, right? And then your cast member returns and they play the music.
