Cyndy had written a book, "The Don Cherry Story," and the second part of that book-

So why don't we start there? Why the delay in between the two parts of "The Don Cherry Story"?

Um, well s- uh, how it kinda got started was Cyndy decid- like, Cyndy and I were, you know, talking during the COVID, uh, uh, you know, shutdown, and I told Cyndy, I said, "Why don't you write a book?" And, um, so she did.

She got down, she started to write it, and by the time she was done, the, uh, the publisher said it's too big for one, 'cause we were self-publishing, and it's kind of like, uh, one of those deals where they said the, um, the book was too thick for, um, uh, uh, um, one book.

Um, the, the first book was more about, um, what we call Poppygate and Dad's coaching his corner career and, um, and, uh, and his, and his television career, and a little bit about the, the Bruins and things like that.

And then the second part of the, the part two book was more about growing up in the Cherry household and, and the, in that hockey world and how, what it was like to have Don Cherry as a dad.

And, um, so basically we, we released, um, uh, unfortunately Cyndy passed away before, um, uh, before it was, uh, released and her, uh, her son, my nephew Del, uh, got it out there.

Um, and then I thought, "You know what? We, we were ready to go with the second book," but we decided to, um, um, wait and, and release it during the playoffs, um, because we were gonna do a lot of promotion on social media.

And, you know, I noticed when, when, you know, when I was doing the podcast with Dad and Cyndy that, um, around playoff time, uh, the social media in the hockey world really started, uh, a, a lot of activity.

So that's why we decided to do, uh, to, to release it, um, at, at, you know, at those intervals.
