Jul 14, 2026 · 47 min · 15 segments
Staring at a massive funding gap and wondering how other nonprofits seamlessly land major corporate deals? Sending out cold pitches that only get swallowed by gatekeepers is frustrating, exhausting…
So to help me break this all down, I'm thrilled to be joined by Grant Jones.
Grant, can I get you to introduce yourself?
[laughs]
Uh, I think you have another role as an NBC commentator for the Olympics and Paralympics-
Thank you [laughs]
I have the great, uh, privilege and pleasure of serving as head of philanthropy for USA Water Polo.
We are the national governing body for the sport of water polo, uh, in the United States, and we are responsible for growing the sport of water polo throughout the US, as well as fielding international teams at the World Championships, at Pan American Championships, and ultimately at the Olympic Games.
Which as Colleen shared, the Winter Games are right around the corner in Milan and Cortina.
They begin next, uh, Friday, the Winter Games, and then exciting for the Summer Games in 2028, returning to the United States in Los Angeles.
Uh, we are all about the red, white, and blue, and cheering on the athletes as they, uh, deliver their passion on the world's greatest stage.
Amazing, Grant.
So happy to have you.
And I have a personal thing where I feel like I know probably more about water polo than maybe the average person because I was dragged to a lot of my cousin's games growing up.
Um, both high school and college.
So I've, I've been there.
I've, I've seen how intense those games can get.
