That's very smart to go incrementally instead of all in do the burn the boat method in which a lot of guys have done and some people to their peril and to some people, they actually fare very well.

But I am more of a fan of.

incrementally and taking steps to be able to achieve that financial freedom.

And it sounds like that's exactly what you guys did.

So you covered your expenses within four to five years and from five to six or five to seven years, you guys were able to cover your active income.

So great job for you guys and hats off.

So when you were working while buying this real estate, were you guys how were you managing your time? And was your wife helping you through this process? I know you guys had really busy W2 careers and really demanding jobs.

How are you guys structuring things?

Yeah, well, this is very applicable to your audience and your show being, you know, talking about moonlighting and the real estate side hustle, right? Which that is a beautiful thing about real estate because it can start as a side hustle, right? You should still approach like a business and you have to dedicate X amount of hours, but you certainly can work your W-2 while building a side business that eventually maybe could replace your full W-2 like it did for us, right? And that can happen if you can consistently stay the course and and do some of the things that I talked about.

But for us, I've always been a hustler, man, even like, well, actually even early on in the, in the air force.

I mean, I've, I've always worked since I was probably 12 years old.

I had a, you know, I grew up in the country in Wyoming.

And so I got a hardship license where I was driving around.

I had a little Honda 90 motorcycle since I was like probably eight years old driving to jobs before I even had a license, you know? So I've always been a hustler, but, um, you know, it's all about using your time, time efficiently, right? Like if you don't, and not everyone is blessed with a position where they have to, some people, especially now that we have kids, it's like, we have no time, but, um, we did it at the time.

Um, my wife wasn't super involved in the real estate.

She was supportive and she thought it was somewhat interesting, but like, she just didn't really want to be that involved, which was okay.

But you know, it's, it's doing, it's finding the time.

So waking up early before your W2, I mean, I had a 30 minute commute when I was driving out to base.

Um, You know, for some of my due stations, I was on the phone with people, right, trying to negotiate deals.

So it's finding those times, not going home and binging out on Netflix.

It's like, what else can we do to use your time efficiently? So that's always served me well.

And I've always hustled.

And you have that entrepreneurial mindset.

And you kind of have to if you're going to be successful, right? Yeah.
