Dr. Mesner is a Vice President and Professor of Optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago.

He's a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and served as Chair of the Academy's Neuro-Optimetric Disorder Special Interest Group.

He was recognized as 2013 Illinois Optometrist of the Year, has received the Presidential Medal of Honor from Sallis University, and has also been honored as Teacher of the Year at ICO 24 times.
