What Makes A Golf Trip Last Forever

Send us Fan Mail One swing, one number, one look at the flag and then the ball disappears. That’s the kind of golf moment that resets your brain, and we get into it with a full recap of our trip, including a called-shot hole in one at Wade Hampton and the strange, wonderful feeling of “nothing can go wrong” golf for seven or eight holes straight. We also break down why certain clubs and courses stick with you long after you leave. From The Honors to Wade Hampton to Lookout Mountain and Chattanooga Golf and Country Club, we talk course conditions, penal rough, caddie culture, and the difference between a mountain course that feels gimmicky versus one that feels inevitable. The architecture conversation goes deeper at Lookout, where bold greens can be fun, but pin placements and usable landing areas decide whether the design holds up over time and across tournament setups. From there, we zoom out to golf travel and what’s next: why Long Island might be the best pocket of golf in America, how California’s greatness gets spread out by distance and traffic, and the upcoming trips that every golf nerd dreams about. We finish with coaching life updates, why continuing education still matters even when you “know more,” and a facility remodel aimed at leveling up the indoor golf and TrackMan training experience for the offseason.
