Hello listeners, Join us this week as we continue our Tarantino deep dive with the 2007 Horror/Action? movie Death Proof Well the boys knew what they were in for this go round, unlike the girls in…
Folks, I genuinely wish there was a fatality that Stuntman Mike had in Mortal Kombat where he runs over a guy's balls just so I could hear, Baltality, Stuntman Mike
wins.
Hi folks, I'm Ian.
Ian, it's great to hear from you.
I was trying to wiggle my way around and not try to say anything about this turd of a movie.
So I wanted to say something about Death Race and Jason Statham and how good that movie is in comparison to this fucking turd.
You know, that's funny, brother.
You've seen that because...
I went on Wikipedia earlier on just to kind of look up random fucking trivia about this.
And I was like, what the fuck? And then like Tarantino gives an explanation.
And I just was like...
I mean, it has elements of, like, the stalking thing, which Michael Myers did in the original Halloween, but, yeah, to put it in the slasher genre, I was a bit like, calling bullshit there, unless someone has other facts that they want to write in and tell us that Evan and I are both wrong, and it is, in fact, a slasher film.
I'm kind of with this.
I think it's more of a psychological thriller.
Yeah.
than anything else.
Yeah, I mean, it's obviously exploitation's its main sort of inspiration, isn't it? So if I was to put it into any genre, it would be an exploitation film.
It's a bit out there.
It's a little bit...
I don't understand why they would say that on Wikipedia.
