Harvey Keitel

I, you know, it's three different times he made films about filmmakers.

Um, [smacks mouth] Dangerous Game is a s- scene from the perspective of a filmmaker played by Harvey Keitel.

The Blackout, Matthew Modine plays the filmmaker, and Tommaso is also about a filmmaker.

And, you know, I think it's safe to say there's a lot of autobiography in those movies, but I think there's a lot of autobiography in things like King of New York and, and Bad Lieutenant, and should probably say the name of Nicholas St. John, who's his co-writer-

Mm-hmm.

It's, it's supposed to be framed around Madonna's character, and you can see that he does not have a ton of interest in that character.

And he pivots the story pretty dramatically to Harvey Keitel's character, who's a filmmaker.

And it's, you know, that's a recurring interest as well about this kind of guy whose f- life is falling apart around him.

yeah maybe even the best I don't know I mean it's it's obviously it helps to be about a movie that with which we're both and I assume most people coming to see this will be extremely familiar Apocalypse Now but yeah this came out this would have come out before any of the re-edits of Apocalypse Now as well so it's also interesting because this had footage from if I'm not mistaken this French plantation scene and some other stuff that had been you know left on the It's Coppola making a movie and, you know, that's one of the more insane productions ever.

I mean, he lost Harvey Keitel on the way through shooting.

and he almost lost martin sheen to a heart attack on set um you see some incredibly raw footage in here of martin sheen like he just got martin sheen drunk and had him like you know have that breakdown in the room as willard it's just like unbelievable um how you see him having to deal with marlon brando which is amazing um and how unprepared he was

all this stuff is professional

He was on the set of The Freshman when they asked him with, I think it was Matthew Broderick and Dustin Hoffman.

So I thought that was interesting.

And then also Harvey Keitel wouldn't agree to let them use any of the footage of him in the role, which I guess they did have, obviously.

So that would be interesting to see.

We'd seen plenty of heist movies, we'd seen plenty of movies where people are on the run, but never with a pair of women, a- and quite frankly, a pair of beautiful women.

The rest of the cast included the late, great Michael Madsen, also Harvey Keitel.

It was written by Callie Khouri and directed by Ridley Scott, so I mean, what, what talent in front of the camera and behind the camera, and we still didn't see what, what was coming.

And the ending, the ending is an all-time classic.
