Hello listeners, Join us in the conclusion of Christopher Nolan's epic batman Trilogy with The Dark Knight Rises. We as always go through many things, just sit back have a listen and enjoy. Your…
Man, there has been a lot of shit said about this movie.
I think it's hard, brother, because of the film that it followed.
It's not a bad film, but it's just that it had so much going against it, now that I think about it, with just how critically acclaimed the second film is in this trilogy.
That's kind of what I've actually been doing.
You asked if we wanted to record at 11 or 12, and I've been sitting here at the computer looking at everything that I can about this movie and why people hate it.
Finally, I stumbled upon a page of this guy just literally ripping the dog shit out of this movie.
It said, 99 problems with this movie and Batman ain't one.
Yeah,
I
do get it, brother.
There are issues I'll bring up later.
Regards to filmmaking-wise and as a Batman fan, but we'll get to that, we'll get to that at some point, but I can understand where people are coming from.
I also haven't...
I actually wonder, when he was making this, did he actually go, fuck, I don't want to be stuck making these films for the rest of my fucking life? fuck it, I'm just going to give this a half-assed effort and then hopefully it'll get shot on and the studio will go, don't do that, we'll just call it a day there.
Ah yes, that would be a good idea.
Well, I actually have an answer for that, but I will wait to talk about that here shortly.
What I do want to talk about is, what's your history with this one?
So I watched it when it came out on digital.
back in, was that
2014?
No, not 2014, but 2012, wasn't as high on it, because again, because of The Dark Knight, wasn't as high on it on the first watch.
I think I've watched it three times in total.
It's not my favourite out of the three, but yeah, the first time I watched it, I was really, really disappointed with it.
And then, obviously, over the years, I've seen other things that have been pointed out to me that's a bit like, oh, yeah, that's not great, with just some of the mistakes and ideas.
But there are parts of it that I do really like.
