A big thanks to Jacob, Joe, Martha, Robin and everyone who volunteered to make our first Shabbat at Commonwealth Autism possible. While the rabbi is away on vacay, enjoy this sneak peek at volunteer…

So part of the dvartara that I gave is I talked about how in an American religious system, there's this idea influenced by Western capitalism of – Bigger, bigger, bigger, more, more, more, larger, larger, larger, right? And Kehila, we're a little different, right? We kind of like the intimacy.

We like to get to know people, right? We don't have to come to everything, but we have to build relationships with each other.

So if I have a choice between lots of small events... where people have deep and fulfilling friendships, relationships versus like, I just go to work once a month and 200 people are there and then that's it.

I said this in the last podcast episode that we talked about this idea of like relationships and we had this, I had this whiteboard set up that had all of these different priorities that the board wants to get involved in all this other stuff.

And, um, I said at the end of our meeting, I said, look, I'm willing to erase all of this if the only thing we accomplish is helping people to form relationships.

You don't want to listen to me just talk over and over and over again about how great last Shabbat was, but I could.
