Alfie ManthorpeGuestDanny RaeGuestAnd Danny, what are you training for at the moment? Obviously you said that you're getting into trail running.
But no, yeah, it's 8,200 meters of elevation over 42 fells in the Lake District, starting and finishing in Keswick.
66 miles and you've got 24 hours to do it and when we spoke about it last time um previous attempts i'd done like self-supported hadn't really trained specifically for it and it is a niche that just won't ever go away so i decided to specifically focus on that um bring in like local experts that can Show me the routes, tell me how to train for it, all the hints and tips.
So I've been training properly for that with a view of doing it in about five weeks from now.
I think the key thing is with that challenge, it's got a lot of history behind it.
So it was first done by Bob Graham, owned a hotel, decided to do 42 fells for his 42nd birthday.
did it when there was like no lines to take and he had help and he did it in a pair of tennis plimsolls.

um so people will be there around floating around at the start they'll know what you're doing but then when people come in to finish it's like it's so cool because you run up the high street people know what's going down um and there's a pub right next to it called the round and what normally happens is when someone finishes they come out of a big pint of beer and they give it to the finisher and they're just sat there in turmoil on the steps like wow what if what have i done for the last 24 hours the record's like 12 and a half hours which is crazy but
who's got the record a guy called jack i think he might be a canadian guy an american guy but 12 hours 23 minutes it's just that is like running up every single hill and not even stopping at checkpoints um i just want to complete it obviously i want to get rounded under 24 and i'm confident that i'll do it um but the last two times i've done it not been training specifically for it not had the best luck and now i just
