If you create YouTube shorts, you'll know that there is not a comparable product to Instagram trial reels.

With Instagram trial reels, you can show the content that you've made to a small subset of people who do not follow you before deciding whether or not to show it to a wider audience that does follow you.

To explain how this will work, here is Rene Ritchie from the YouTube Creator Insider Team.
YouTube has a brand new tool designed to help creators get feedback in the form of tailored insights on our shorts and before we share them with the world.
Hello insiders, I'm Rene Ritchie, an OG creator now working at YouTube and here's what's up.
With this new tool, creators can get feedback before hitting publish on a short and waiting to see how the audience might react.
In other words, as part of the normal creation and upload process, creators can now get guidance on the strength of the hook, the pacing, the visual.
Your delivery and audio quality are top tier, making this news update super engaging right off the bat.
To make this short stand out even more, try throwing in some quick cutaway visual examples or screen recordings of the feature while you explain it.
Giving viewers a quick visual glimpse of what the tool actually looks like in action will keep their eyes locked on the screen and make the update feel even more practical.
Keep up the awesome work.
And if creators agree with the feedback, we can go back, tweak, edit and refine the final short before putting it live.
But, and this is key, getting and using this feedback is entirely optional.
The tool won't do any edits, make any changes.
It just provides suggestions based on best practices.
And YouTube knows every creator, channel and audience is different.
So it's up to you if you wanna use the tool or implement any, all, some, or none of the suggestions.
Creators remain in the driver's seat.
To access the tool, go through the normal shorts upload process and look for the new get feedback button on the add detail screen before you smash publish.
Give it a vibe check and let us know your thoughts and questions in the comments.
