Lilith, by George MacDonald

I read it.

I don't even remember why or how I read it.

I think it was in my early George McDonald phase.

And so I was just reading everything that he wrote.

Not everything.

I still haven't read any of his realist fiction.

So I have a whole nother world to delve into.

But I was reading all of his fantastical fiction.

And I read Lilith.

And I just immediately fell in love with it.

I liked it way more than Fantasties at first.

But I'm pretty sure that's because I had to read Fantasties in high school.

So I wasn't ready for it.

You went to a special high school.

Yeah, you know, those classical Christian schools.

Yeah.

So I've loved Lilith.

And I think because it's so blatantly about suffering and death, which all of McDonald's books are.

But I think this and At the Back of the North Wind are my favorite.

And I think that's because they're the most obviously dealing with death.

Yeah, yeah.

I did not.

Listeners, I did not have time to do a ton of background research on this, so I'm going purely on memory here and see if you can help me out.

But I believe it was George MacDonald's final, at least, fantastical

novel.
