Cassie LaubGuestI, it really was exciting, um, that you guys wanted to be on and that you took the time out, so I really appreciate it.
I worked for a distributor, and I sold Surface, and I sold over 50 brands, and Surface is one of my favorites.
But they have a really special way of working with salons, and I always even tell a lot of my, um, coaching, a lot of the salons that I coach, if they're looking for, like, a boutique-style brand but that has, like, a big brand's support, and Surface is a big brand, but not everybody still knows about it yet, and so that's why I say it like that.
And a lot of the, quote-unquote, "big brands" that are out there, they don't even have that level of support anymore, so I even have to be mindful when I say that even to a younger stylist because they don't even know what used to, kind of, like, what used to happen.
And although this is not a sales pitch, if you do have any questions, I just wanna make sure that anyone knows, if you have any questions about Surface or partnering with Surface or have any questions for Sean or Cassie, you can always reach us.
So the first thing that I wanna get started with, though, is I'm not in the salons as much as I used to be.
Obviously, like, I do coaching and things like that, but I used to be in, I mean, oh my word, so many salons every single week.
And- I wanna start with, especially for our listeners, there's so much information out there from so many different podcasts and so many different platforms about, you know, how great the industry is, how not great the industry is, how you need to get rid of retail, how you need to, you know, turn it 12,000 times in order to make a profit.
I just get, like, okay, well, uh, I mean, most of them aren't necessarily true, but even it, you know, to, that they might be a, there might be some truth to them, um, it- it's not for all people.
So tell us a little bit about the state of the industry, especially if we have salon owners or independent stylists that are right now they might wanna make a change, and maybe they're, like, not sure about the industry or about the future of the industry or anything like that.
