HR Business Strategy: A conversation with Kelly Hansen, winner of the HR THRIVE Good Leadership Award

Okay, so by way of background, the first year of the HR Thrive Awards, we gave out several different types of awards.

And the first one was the Next Gen HR Leaders.

These are the young HR leaders to watch.

who had 10 years of experience or less.

And I'm going to ask you to comment on how you reacted to all these awards here in just a second.

The second one was the HR Innovator Award.

And these are HR leaders who are advancing their organization with technology and just new ideas.

Then, of course, we had the Empower HR Award.

These are the people that are really investing in developing young HR leaders and just championing the HR function in large.

And then, of course, you won the Good Leadership Award that really honors your contributions on the business and business strategy.

So when you heard about this slate of awards, how did you think about this was helping advance the HR industry as a whole?

I think it gives awareness to all the different ways HR can impact a business, right? So whether it is innovation...

And looking at technology is a huge part of the HR space today and will be into the future.

When you look at new people coming into their careers in HR, they're learning a different way of HR already where, you know, people that have been in the profession 20, 30 years started when it was the personnel department, right, devalued.

But then also when you think of empowering and developing other HR leaders, it really just shows the versatility of HR.

the HR role in all the different areas that can impact a business or a team.

Yeah, my assumption is that you have all of these things wrapped into your HR team.
