Bonus Pod - Phil Russell Interview

Yeah, brilliant.

And so what were you, I mean, give us an indication of the sort of times you were stuck, because you're training in great company then, and that must be, you know, training with, as you say, the elite in Scotland, and that's bringing you on.

So what sort of times were you starting to put together for races that we'll recognise?

The start of my best run could be, I wouldn't do my best run, but I had to be right up there.

I ran the Great North Run half marathon and it was 69 minutes and 22 seconds.

I would finish sixth in that race.

Yeah, yeah.

So that was that.

In Marathon, it was 2.36.29.

It was 70th.

And which one was

that,

Phil? Glasgow.

Glasgow Marathon.

And my brother, he was four minutes behind his 2.40.

So it was no bad for two brothers, 2.36 and 2.40.

Yeah.

And then, sorry.

No, no, I need to go.

I need to go.

The likes of people watching us, it was the run the Chisholm Mile now, and they might be wondering why we came about to run the Chisholm Mile.

You know, turn it, we run by the wind, because the time we were conducted was a 70 mile an hour run by wind in the inauguration.

So we decided to run from the cafe end of Esplanade out, so that one, we could blow along in that one.

So that was a bit of history.

That's how that race alternates, depending on where the wind's blowing.

Yeah, brilliant.
