Hidden Gems and Big Reveals From SGF 2026 | The Gamerheads Podcast

So, Jacob, I'll start with you.

And the first question that I have here for you, or the first one that I brought up here, is what was the biggest reveal for you over the Summer Game Fest weekend and why?

So this was actually tough.

And out of everything that you had, you know, the three questions that were going through, this was the one that took me a little while to come to because I wanted something that was like big and made me feel and I was surprised that hadn't really been talked about before.

So I think when I think of the big AAA game that got me the most excited was Weirdly, Wolverine was that for the weekend.

That's not my answer, but because we saw an extended bit of gameplay and that's the one where I went, oh, I guess I need to play Insomniac's next game as soon as it comes out.

So that was kind of the answer I almost went with, but I was like...

The key word here is reveal.

And so because it hadn't been shown before and it kicked off the show and it was something that for a long time I didn't quite know what it was.

Resident Evil Veronica was my answer here.

I've not played Code Veronica ever.

I have not engaged with anything before 2, really.

So the original Code Veronica, 0.

And so I'd love to get into that eventually.

And I've got Requiem here to play that I intend to play this year.

And so if Veronica is anything like My Time with Seven, if it has the vibes of... two or four or nine then i'm sure i'm gonna love it and um i forget the setting the exact setting but was it was it france for veronica yeah yeah so obviously like i've got a bit of a connection there so veronica's veronica's the answer i thought it was actually od for a little while i was looking at it and said oh is this freaking kojima is this od but it was veronica

Yeah.

No, I, um, it's funny that you say that because for me, well, I am older than you, but we're going to look at it like, yeah, I know.

I think I'm like the oldest son of all of our friends.

I think I'm the oldest, like by, by quite a bit, actually.

Young soul.

Young soul, old body.

Uh, yeah.

My experience with Resident Evil is much different because I did play the very first game because I had the PlayStation when it came out.

I was like, oh, I want to play this game.
