We can't believe this is happening - The Fix S4E09

But yeah, Nick Suzuki going now with an injury yesterday, man.

I don't know about you, but I was getting text messages about it.

My phone blew up.

And as soon as I found out about it, it was a real kick in the balls for me at work.

I was like, oh, my God.

I can't even.

This is bad.

I can't even imagine this Habs team without Nick Suzuki.

I'm not used to him anymore without Nick Suzuki.

It's not just the 100-point player.

It's all the little things that he does and the leadership and the smart little plays and the slow and everything down.

That's gone.

You can't replace that.

No, there's no doubt Nick Suzuki is a presence in Montreal, and he's been a cornerstone, a rocket.

He's been more reliable than anybody else almost in the league for the last few years.

And you kind of went forward into this season just assuming that it would continue.

You know what I mean? I guess we kind of took his Ironman streak for granted.

And it is a different team without him in the lineup.

I mean, we were already a little bit, I'll say, you know, thin down the middle.

We had a legit top six centerman.

uh you know you could argue you definitely don't have a 2c to kind of who can step up there uh we were already pushing three and four c's up into that 2c slot to try to fill up that's that situation so so right now you're looking at you know you got no no number one c you arguably got no number two c you still got some good depth you still got some good pieces uh and and there's still some injuries outside of suzuki and demidoff especially when you're talking about our top six that are still issues so i mean it's uh it's out of all the people who could have got hurt in this lineup nick suzuki was the one that you took for granted that it wouldn't happen

and yeah

couldn't there's no one could have a bigger impact by losing than nick suzuki because that's the one position we don't have like a defenseman goes down we got defensemen who can step up and increase their role and play you know maybe a little bit above their pay grade uh wingers go down you know demodav goes down you know we got guys who can come up and play in our top six or we got guys we can shuffle around so our top nine at least looks good looks productive but up the middle we don't have that depth you know we got guys coming in michael hayes who are not here yet um but outside of that we don't have a guy who can step up and play the legit number one center role um but that's what we're going to try to get out of oliver captain by the look of it

I've seen a lot of people online yesterday tossing around shit that just popped up in their head.

I do that too.
