So through the year, in our first couple years of marriage, when it was anything I was voicing in the very beginning, and my husband was being told at the time by higher ups, oh, your wife is, you know, she's causing an issue.

I at first was like, oh, do I need to be quiet? Is this a different culture? That part alone was a culture shock because I was so used to speaking up for myself and for others.

And it started with like my medical health and not being seen properly, not getting things addressed when it came to my health, my pregnancy, them not listening to different issues I was having during my pregnancy.

And I ended up being a high risk pregnancy with my daughter because they were not taking me seriously, you know, with those conversations.

And I did a lot of that and then took it back into I'm advocating for other military spouses.

What gap is there that exists? What resources are you saying exists but we're not aware of? And how can I bridge that gap? You know, have those conversations with military spouses.

And being in this military life, I said, no, no, no, no, no. It's not me to not speak up.

More military spouses are speaking up and advocating for themselves and families.
