So five years in practice, you're known on social media for being very anti-filler.

So starting out in your practice, what were you seeing? Why did you come to this conclusion?

Yeah, so I mean, in early practice, I was using more filler, of course, than I do today.

And being anti-filler, I still do use filler.

This industry, this field, it's a practice and there's a toolbox for everyone.

I'm blessed to have no limitations to my toolbox to what exists on planet Earth.

And having been in this fellowship and seeing and using all the non-surgical devices, filler has a role for sure.

I still think it's the best tool to volumize your lips.

I think for minor contour abnormalities of the nose, it's an amazing thing.

I think it's better than fat in both of those scenarios.

However, having fat in my toolbox opens a whole world that a lot of people can't see.

And there's an old saying in plastic surgery, replace like with like.

The body it does best when you put its own substance in that area.

And generally, foreign objects in the body is not a great thing.

You know, I'm a body surgeon.

I use breast implants.

We compare fat to implants in the breast.

And yeah, there is a benefit to having the natural feel and no rejection of fat, not having to do with capsular contracture.

However, fat is totally limited in the breast in not being able to deliver the same shape as an implant can.

So that makes sense.

So you have both options for the breast.

For the face, okay, filler is different than an implant.

It is a cohesive gel that can migrate and the face is much more sensitive than the breast.

So my main concern with filler in the face is lymphatics.

Once people get lymphatic puffing in their face, It's very obvious.
