The Golden Girls premiered on September 14, 1985 - a monumental 40 years ago - and we still love it! It was groundbreaking because it centered on four women over 50 at a time when Hollywood heavily favored youth. It proved that stories about aging women were hilarious, relevant, and wildly successful (winning 11 Emmy Awards).
