Hollywood star Pierce Brosnan has said the rumors of on-set clashes surrounded his MobLand co-star, Tom Hardy, were a storm in a teacup.

The Guy Ritchie crime series, which also stars Dame Helen Mirren, made headlines during filming for its upcoming second series over reported tension between the co-stars, with Tom Hardy at the center of it.

The actor was rumored to have kept the two waiting on set and was accused of clashing with the co-creators of the show, Ronan Bennett and Jez Butterworth, and it was thought he would not return for a third season.

Speaking at the series premiere in Central London last night, Pierce, who's 73, and reprised his role as the fierce head of a powerful mob family, Conrad Harrigan, told the Press Association, "Oh, my God, it was a storm in a teacup, really.

What was that like to see this world, these people that you'd created, embodied by people like Helen Mirren and Sabine Kingsley?

Yeah, it was really, really interesting.

And, you know, I sold the rights to the film weirdly before the book even came out.

Yeah, it was fascinating.

It was slightly out of body experience for me because I feel like I know the characters, I know who they are.

So to me, it's not like, oh, it was like a real, you know, true crime reconstruction or something with Helen Mirren in it.

But I didn't get involved in it creatively, you know, because I've done my version of A Thirsty Murder Club, which is the book.

Season 1 was fantastic.
