You can be growing, upgrading, and keeping everyone employed while the real engine underneath is fear. Do you know what’s actually driving you? In this conversation, Colt sits down with Doug Assaly, who started a business at 45 after years of minimum wage jobs and scaled a construction company to tens of millions in sales, all while chasing approval from a father who told him he’d never be more than a gas station attendant. You’ll hear why Doug kept an idle team on full pay for months through COVID rather than shrink, how a McLaren became a monument to proving himself, why the push behind your drive matters more than the drive itself, and how a self-described “lone wolf Christian” ended up in a men’s group called the Wolf Pack. Doug also shares the moment in a parking lot, holding a year of massive losses, when his father’s voice was finally gone and it was just him and God. If you’ve been confusing your drive with your worth, this one is for you.
