24 Sep 26 – Overcoming Loneliness

And then there's another definition.

It says of a place, the quality of being unfrequented and remote isolation.

So a lonely that gives the example, the loneliness of a farm or, you know, a place that isn't very frequented.

Interesting that they have these two definitions, because if you notice one of them.

is about one having no friends or company.

And the other one is a place that's not frequented.

We talk about a lonely place.

And I think that in one of them, it looks like, you know, sadness because I have no friends or company.

Interesting.

Is that a good definition of loneliness? I think it is overall in terms of just the general definition of loneliness.

But when we really think about it and we want to say, hey, how are we going to fix this? I'm feeling kind of lonely.

What does that really mean? if i'm like the farm i'm not being visited nobody's coming to me that could be causing my loneliness but i think loneliness is a little bit different we'll talk about that why actually the cause of loneliness it's not necessarily because i'm not being frequented because the truth is i've known many of people who tell me i feel very lonely and when we talk about their experience of loneliness it's not about being isolated it's not about not having people talk to them because they say i can go to a party And people come up and say hello.

And we sit down and we have a drink or I work the room.

I walk around.

I say hi to people.

And the whole time I feel very lonely inside.

Why is that? That's the irony of it all.

You can be in a room full of people and feel very, very lonely.

And there's other people who tell me.

you know what, I'm more of an introvert.

I enjoy my time alone.

I really relish having a cup of coffee or something by myself in my patio.

Nobody talked to me at that moment.

And boy, I feel so fulfilled.

And that person is not being frequented by anybody.
