The Dog Show Drive - Canadian Edition - Episode 92

And then tell us a little bit about Mr. Andrew Brace.

Yes, some news from the judges' ring.

Congratulations to Andrew Brace, dear friend.

He's retiring from judging.

Andrew, with a career spanning more than six decades, has left an... extraordinary mark in the world of purebred dogs, from breeding and exhibiting champions to judging at some of the world's most prestigious shows, including Crufts and Westminster.

His passion and expertise have reached every corner of the international dog show community.

Andrew was, or is, he was competitive in everything he did.

He was good at Pekingese.

He was great friends with Bill and Nigel.

He always tells so many stories about Bill and Nigel.

And when you listen to him speak about Bill and Nigel, it's almost like you're speaking with Nigel again because he has a lot of the same characteristics the way he

speaks.

Oh, yeah.

It makes you think of Nigel.

And he also had...

Big winning Beagles, track band Beagles.

He was the number one dog all breed, had multiple best in shows.

I think he started off in boxers.

He's judged everywhere.

And he's just one of those guys that when he sees you, he's genuinely happy to see you.

I remember he

was judging Chow Chows at Orlando, and I was walking by the ring, and in the middle of judging, he stopped, walked over, That's how I was, shook my hand, and then went back to judging Chow Chows.

What a guy.

And he's a great author, a great teacher, a great mentor to many.

The judging world will miss Andrew, but I'm sure it's not the last we've heard of Andrew.
