What can you actually do to make your eyes look younger? From drooping brows and excess eyelid skin to crow’s feet, puffiness, and dark circles, there are a lot of different ways the eyes can show…

Uh, the main complaint that people have with their eyebrows when they come to see me is that their eyebrows are drooping.

So how do you then lift the brows? Well, there is one very simple thing that you can do that is absolutely free, you gotta be careful if you do it, uh, but it's absolutely free, that can really help to make your eyebrows look lifted.

And this is a little simple trick that I learned way, way back when, when I was in Beverly Hills and I took actual makeup lessons.

And one of the things that you can do is if you literally pluck or remove, you can wax it, you can pluck it, you can, um, thread the hair, but if you remove hair from the under surface of the eyebrow, that can increase the distance from your eye to the actual brow, making the eyebrows look higher.

Now, there are actual studies that have looked at endoscopic brow lifts, and these are surgical brow lifts I'll talk about in a second, that lift the brows, and they show that they lift the brows anywhere from about three to five millimeters higher.

Well, if you have a relatively thick brow, like the Brooke Shields back in the '80s, and you can do this, then you can remove some of the hair on that under surface of that brow, even just a couple of millimeters, and that can make a real difference in how open your eye looks.

And so this is a very common way that, uh, experts who are, um, brow experts can actually make your brows look lifted.

Doing the opposite, removing hair from the u- upper surface of your brow, can actually do the opposite thing.

Now, obviously this only works if you have brows that are a bit wider and thicker.

If you've got those pencil line type brows that some people had back in the early 2000s, this is definitely not gonna work for you.

But if you have brows that are a little bit overgrown, if you have brows that are definitely those Brooke Shields '80s brows, then this can really work well by removing some of that hair to help, uh, make your brows look lifted.

I actually had a patient of mine many, many years ago who came to see me for a brow lift, and I had an aesthetician at that time.

And, uh, I took one look at her, and she said, "Well, I want a brow lift." I took one look at her, and I sent her to my aesthetician, and about 20 minutes later she came out with her brow lift.

Her brows looked actually lifted, uh, because she removed the hair, just once again, those eyebrow hair, just from the undersurface of that brow, and it really, really worked nicely for her.

Now, you also wanna consider if you're doing that, uh, plucking those hairs, there's always a possibility that that hair may not come back.

One way that you can actually test it, if you wanna try testing it, is if you take a skin colored pencil, like a makeup pencil, and you can actually color the h- the eyebrow hair the color of your skin, uh, and then see how that looks.

You'll know which ones to pull, because once again, by coloring it, then you pull the colored hairs out.

We actually did this for a TV show many years ago, where instead of actually plucking the brows to demonstrate it, we actually colored the brows in the color of skin, and it looked basically the same.
