Episode #157 - Learn This Skill Before The Economic Crash | Jon Buchan

If the economy crashed tomorrow, what skill could you sell with nothing but a keyboard?  In this episode of The Conscious Man 7 Podcast, I sit down with Jon Buchan, creator of Charm Offensive, the humour-led copywriting style I use myself, to find out whether copywriting and email marketing could be your side income, your next career, or your safety net if the ground shifts. Nobody is coming to rescue your income, and your fear is what keeps you waiting. We open with Jon’s origin story. When his word-of-mouth work dried up, he says he got drunk, wrote an absurd cold email and sent it the next morning to senior marketing directors. Replies came from decision makers at Red Bull, Pepsi, HSBC and Barclays, and he says Symantec and Hewlett Packard became clients. Then we break down why it worked. In this conversation we cover: - The drunk cold email that changed Jon’s career, and the “bedroom tidying” reply from Hewlett Packard Enterprise - How, by his own account, a variation of that email won press coverage for a client - Email list or Facebook group: which one pays the bills? - Why admitting a weakness can beat a polished CV in a job application - Is copywriting still worth learning when money gets tighter and AI writes in seconds? - The psychology of charm: confessing the sales motive, predicting the angry reply, the silly motif - A live challenge: Jon charms the dullest line in business - Why follow up five times, and how a beginner builds an email campaign - Is his AI Pack teaching the machine to replace him? - Copywriting for beginners: the roadmap, and what to write tomorrow morning This is for you if you want a side income, a career change, or a backup plan if work dries up. Most people are not lazy. They are waiting for permission and a plan. This conversation gives you both. 🎁 Get all of Jon's work exclusively for CM7 listeners – https://www.charm-offensive.co.uk/cm7 👉🏽 Use coupon code 𝗖𝗠𝟳 at the checkout to get 𝟴𝟱% off your order ✨ Join the Community, support us and get ad-free episodes + exclusive content on Patreon or Locals: 👉🏽 Patreon – https://www.patreon.com/theconsciousman7podcast 👉🏽 Locals – https://theconsciousman7.locals.com/ 🌐 Connect with Jon via any of the links below:  Website – www.charm-offensive.co.uk/ The Magic Cheat Sheet for FREE – https://www.charm-offensive.co.uk/free-b2b-cold-email-template-download/  Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/jonbuchan2  Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/jon.buchan  Facebook Group – https://www.facebook.com/groups/charmoffensivegroup   Email – jon@charm-offensive.co.uk The Everything Pack – https://www.charm-offensive.co.uk/cm7  Use coupon code 𝗖𝗠𝟳 at the checkout to get 𝟴𝟱% off your order  🌐 Connect with me via any of the links below:  Compound Body Training website – https://compoundbodytraining.com/  The Conscious Man 7 Podcast website – https://theconsciousman7podcast.com/  Fountain – https://fountain.fm/show/1Tgn3yHym3UmGUQecY8B Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/todd.cave.790 Instagram – @adriano\_246 – https://www.instagram.com/adriano\_246/ @theconsciousman7podcast – https://www.instagram.com/theconsciousman7podcast/ Twitter/X – @adriano\_246 – https://x.com/adriano\_246 Todd & Me Merch – https://link.amazon/B0ddwYX37 (US)  https://link.amazon/B055VB9KL (UK and Europe) The Conscious Man 7 Tip Jar – Bitcoin address – bc1q39w4ah4aklfnxf8knjpheqsp7hjddjegyq2c20 Email – theconsciousman7@gmail.com 📢 Align your mind and body with your custom meal plan – https://compoundbodytraining.com/mealplan 📢 Fix your leaky gut and fuel your mind with Good Bru – https://goodbru.com/cm7  Use coupon code 𝗖𝗠𝟳 at the checkout to get 10% off your order 📢 Get your Orgonite at The Chembow – https://www.thechembow.com/  Use coupon code 𝗖𝗠𝟳 at the checkout to get 10% off your order ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ **🎙️ THE CONSCIOUS MAN 7 PODCAST** Real conversations the mainstream won’t have on spirituality, truth, consciousness, power, and the forces shaping our world. 🌎 📌 Subscribe for new episodes every week 👍🏽 Like if this made you rethink your own safety net 💬 Tell me in the comments, what is the one skill you are learning this year to protect your income?📤 Share this with the one person in your life who needs a second income. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ #EconomicCrash #Copywriting #EmailMarketing #SideHustle #LearnNewSkills #ColdEmail #JonBuchan #CharmOffensive #AIandJobs #RecessionProof #FreelanceCopywriting #MakeMoneyOnline #PodcastInterview #ConsciousMan7 Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-conscious-man-7-podcast--6174786/support.
