That's the full move, and... guess the summer and fall of john chaik continues yeah it's it was a shocking move to be honest because marchenko i think last week was talking to the media and what i didn't have really a confident answer and saying he was going to continue playing hockey in columbus so i guess the writing's been on the wall for a little while there and obviously the agent dan milstein was obviously doing his thing on twitter tweeting out like cryptic gifs all week and Obviously tweeted out something right before the deal was confirmed by Friedman or at least talked about.

And then, yeah, it was official with the extension kicking in 12.56 years for Marchenko.

The reason I like this trade and don't love the trade is, well, obviously for one, Matthew Nise, I think is extremely valuable.

He's been obviously in trade rumors with your team, trade rumors with Columbus before when a Zach Ruenske type of deal, which in hindsight, looking back on that, probably would have made that deal.

And getting Merchenko, it's like you said, in one of the group chats and like a lot of people are saying, It's like a William Nylander, but he's more big.

And in Columbus, obviously, he's not going to, you know, pop off as much, you know, in the media and like people noticing him that much.

And, you know, he's from Arizona, like Matthews was and, you know, fit the bill of what the Leafs needed for a couple seasons strong power forward guy on the wing of Matthews.

And, you know, he's very generally young in this league on a great contract as well.

Yeah, it sucks to see him go, but getting a guy like Kirill Marchenko obviously is going to add a ton of William Kneelder-esque factors to our lineup, and hopefully he gets a goal score, because getting paid the money to be an extremely good goal scorer now, and I think his previous deal, Joe, was like $4 million or something, Marchenko.

And obviously, what we talked about last week with all the contracts exploding, the 12.5 is honestly market value.
