People sell thousand-dollar blogging courses and five-figure coaching programs for information that's stale the second you buy it. So instead of buying one, we built ourselves a PERSONAL curriculum: a…
And basically, there's four important things to talk about when we're talking about what's changed.
The first thing is that you really need to be blogging for depth.
And what I mean by that is that the old way was that you would cram everything that you could possibly put into one exhaustive post.
The longer and more H2s and like hitting all the keywords related in one post, the better.
And that actually doesn't give you any authority on that topic or, you know, that keyword, and it also doesn't serve the person that is searching in the best way, because now imagine they were looking for something very specific and they have to like scroll through this whole blog post just to find one answer.
They're gonna bounce.
They're gonna click away.
So that means that that's not gonna rank.
So the new way that you really need to think about when you're blogging is that you need to have separate blog posts that are answering very specific things that an exact user that is looking at your content is looking for.
So part of the, not, part of it can be knowledge, part of it can be a part of the journey.
So you need to be basically the person that anticipates the next question, and you're gonna also give them that journey where you're answering that question and providing them the link to continue going down that rabbit hole inside of your website.
So that is the most important thing.
So basically, it is something that was already being used as content clusters, but you really need to think of it in a, a way of really adding a lot of depth and also a lot of your own knowledge and experience, not just informational.
So let me give you a quick example.
If you're building a silk cluster, you know the fabric.
So what you would do is you can have your main hub about silk, but you also need to think, well, if somebody's working with silk, they will want to know how do you take care of silk? How do you work with silk? What are the tools that you, that are gonna make working with silk better? How do you prepare silk before working with it? Like, what are those tips and tricks? What can you make with silk? What are the best garments that you can use silk for? What are the different types of silk, and what is your experience working with each one of those? And like, how can you make that better? So like, you have a whole slew of posts around silk that you can create that are answering very specific things.
So this is what I mean when I'm talking about depth.
You will be like the source for getting all the information about silk.
And obviously, you do that for whatever your niche is.
So I definitely think that this changed because authority is not about one page ranking for one query.
It's about, because really, if you think about it, and I know that I noticed this with my own blog, you would get one good post and rank for that keyword, but that was a fluke, right? It was totally a fluke, and the thing is, authority is gonna be built by the fact that you now have 12 Very well interlinked blog posts that are going to show your expertise on that subject.
Now, that doesn't mean every single one of those blog posts is going to rank, but the fact that they're all there working together is going to make one of them rank really well, because you are the source for that.
And then not only that, but somebody coming to your site has a whole journey and rabbit hole to go down because of that interlinking.
So what you're going to do is you're gonna pick three pillars, and then you're gonna think of 10 questions under each one of those pillars that you need to answer.
Think about that user that is going on Google and searching, what do they want to know about those three pillars? Answer those 30 questions.
