10-12-26 Bloomdaddy - MLB, Electrifying Sporting Events - Sam & Otis - Columbus Day, Beach Boys

Good Monday morning.

And first off, I hope you had a great weekend.

And second, if you love baseball, tonight's your night.

AL Championship Series, the Rays and the Guardians.

Now, if you're a Cleveland baseball fan, you're head over heels.

If you're just a baseball fan, you should still be head over heels.

What an exciting night.

It's the best of seven.

Rays and the Guardians.

Now, you take a look at the head-to-head matchup between these two, it looks lopsided.

Six games, Cleveland went one and five against Tampa.

But if you look behind the numbers, if you will, three of those six games decided by two runs or less.

Both these teams have really, really good pitching.

Tampa Bay has more offensive firepower than Cleveland, but not that much more.

I think this series is gonna be a lot closer than people think, and I think it's gonna be really, really exciting.

And speaking of that, Saturday I was at the ballpark for that game five win against the White Sox.

You wanna talk about an electric atmosphere.

That's probably one of the greatest sporting events I've been to in my life as far as energy, excitement, and just in the moment goes.

And I've covered a lot since I started in this profession back in 1992.

But Cleveland fans love their baseball, they love their players, they love Jose Ramirez, and the fact that he hit that ball out the way he did, and then the pitching dominating the rest of the way.

Travis Kelsey was in the house.

Most of the Cavs, Donovan Mitchell in the house.

I mean, it was just an electric atmosphere the whole way around.

I went back to my studio on Euclid Avenue, which is only about a block and a half from Progressive Field, and I did the post-game all the way till 1:00 a.m. We have a sidewalk-to-ceiling window where people walk by, they can look in at you.

You feel like you're an animal at the zoo.
