I mean, this week's going to be interesting because we have these two icons of rock and roll and two stories told in very, very different ways.

So this was a movie that kind of traces Buddy Holly from like right before he breaks.

But again, this is one where when we talk about, you know, we get into the criteria of historical accuracy and lead performance, we'll dig deeper.

This is kind of a slice of life, you know, right before he gets famous until he leaves for the ill-fated winter dance party tour.

So you get this kind of, I don't know, a couple year probably time frame in the film.

and you get to see him I think another interesting part about about this movie it shows you know Buddy Holly and the Crickets formation it shows him releasing his first album and getting signed to a record deal and sort of the complications with how that happened and then you know again being a Texan we talk a lot about some of these stories are innately Texan Buddy Holly's is also one famously from Lubbock Texas they have a lot of memorials uh to buddy holly if you're ever in lubbock texas and are a fan my grandparents lived there when i was young so i know a whole lot about buddy holly but i i think the cool thing about this movie is that it also takes you to his time living in new york in the village and what that was like for him.

And so I did love in rewatching the movie that you also get to see his time in New York when he had signed with a record label and meeting his wife.

So again, this is one where you're not going to have big dazzling production numbers.

So those of you that are used to, you know, like the Bohemian Rhapsody level of production numbers.

And I think you still get a really interesting look into the life of Buddy Holly and Gary Busey turns in a pretty amazing performance.

Again, as somebody with a really unique voice, a unique style, a unique look, and definitely a trailblazer.

And I think that this movie does that well and does it well via the lead, Gary Busey, who plays Buddy Holly.

And it's interesting because people who, if listeners go back and watch this movie now, knowing what they know of Gary Busey, it's probably going to throw them off a little bit that he's just so good.
