IU-Canada Exhibition Postgame Show

And welcome Hoosier fans to another victorious episode of the Assembly Call.

We have basketball in July, where USA, our Indiana Hoosiers, defeated Team Canada in an exhibition tonight at Assembly Hall by the score of 98-10. to 64.

Indiana had a chance to show its fans the new roster.

And Coach Motz is going to join us here tonight and share with you guys some thoughts that he had.

I'm going to try to interpret some of the media.

and maybe ask some good questions.

But Indiana led from the start, including leading at halftime 46-32.

It seemed like they got off to a little bit of a rough start trying to find the rhythm passing and turning the ball over a little bit.

But eventually they got up to a 14-point lead at halftime.

and then a really strong third quarter as they are playing 10-minute quarters here, FIBA rules.

Indiana was able to really stretch the lead and then put the game away and play some subs the last five minutes leading to

the victory.

So a pretty good – these are good things for the program, and I'm really glad to see that Indiana's playing in Peru.

But I think all of NCAA basketball can now play these summer games, and I think that's just important for the college game to get these new kids in, get some practice in, and get some real live games.

When it comes down, Indiana will be champion.

For me, it's just getting a taste of the new roster.

A couple things stood out in some of the clips and some of the things I'm going to ask Coach Motes here who saw the game live was a lot of good ball pressure leading to transition opportunity.

I liked seeing in the social media the ball movement, still shooting some threes, still able to do some things with the post.

We have two new post players.

So there's a lot of things.

But the banner moment was – to get a point guard like Marcus Burton to be able to get in the lane.

And the stat that I saw that he was in the first half, he drew four fouls and had five assists along with scoring, I believe, nine points in that first half.

So that's our banner moment.
