year, at least especially during the Biden administration, the border is essentially shut down now with zero releases, as the administration has touted.
But what we are talking about here is for decades, nationals from other countries traversed up through Mexico and made it into the United States.
So these are individuals who came from a foreign country and traversed through at least one other foreign country, that being Mexico in most cases.
There's a little bit of stuff from Canada, but mostly from Mexico and then into the United States.
In some cases, you're talking about people who journeyed from the other side of the world, flew to somewhere like, I don't know, Brazil or Ecuador or Colombia or Venezuela, and then went through multiple countries all the way through Central America, through Mexico, and then landed in the United States.
And then they come here, and they live, they work, and then they get caught, and they get subject to removal proceedings.
So I laid out all of that background for a reason, and we'll get to it in just a little bit, and you'll see what we're talking about here.
