Oh, that's the funniest story because we didn't sit down one day and just decided let's start an agency.

When Mariam and I, my wife, moved to Istanbul three and a half years ago, we were each developing our own carriers.

Because of the new internal requirement, they needed to work with the formally registered company that could issue official invoice and sign an agency agreement.

So in a way, the client pushed us to... formalize something we were already doing.

We were registered Eteniz in Istanbul and from there it gradually become more serious.

We got more project, expand the services, build a team and started treating it as a real company rather than a side consulting arrangement.

I always called Eteniz our baby because we build it together while we are also building a new life in a new country later.

And when we moved to Vancouver, we brought Italian with us, registered the company here, and rebuilt it in a completely new market.

It often comes from the request of a client to actually do some of the official things that make it legitimate.

I have this memory of in our first one or two years, we were going back and forth with what would have been at that time our largest client.
