In it, we've found VOID, which is Victims of Impaired Drivers, and that's where I met Candy.

Um, they've given me community, um, and people to talk to about Maddox where I don't feel awkward talking about him and people who understand my pain, um, who've also lost children, parents, or all the things to in this, you know, like you can't say, oh, well, at least they're not suffering now.

And then to have to go through the judicial process also is a whole other level of things.

So having them to walk with me and to kind of instruct me and tell me what to expect or things like that.

Um, many times Jeff and Christie would text me like, Hey, we were at the Capitol today for one of our void bills.

And they're like, we went and talked to him about Maddox's bill with this one and that one.

And, um, and Lindsay, they would go do that for me, you know? And so like, they've just really became family to me.

Um, and again, giving me a purpose, even working on Maddox's bill has given me purpose.

Um, my therapist sometimes asked me like, when this is all said and done, like, what are you going to do? Like, is it going to hit you? Is it going to, you know, um, but I think that still having void and getting to help continue to do that, um, And then me now in turn trying to help some of these new families that are coming in that I reach out to them and they, you know, I constantly getting messages from them of like, thank you for helping me through this.

Some days we need to have somebody be the bridge for us and some days we're the bridge for someone else.

And so like having the Void community has really helped in my grief and then fighting for the bill.

My initial goal after starting with the bill was that let's get it passed in Oklahoma and then I want to move on to the federal level.

Well, in my research back in February when I was researching all the states, I came across that there's a federal bill that's being ran and it is.
