And here's what she had to say about the sentencing.
0:22
Yeah, so on September the 8th that we went to court for her sentencing, she again had entered a blind plea, which means and pled no contest, which means that she gets to go before a judge and the judge gets to be the sole deciding factor instead of a jury deciding.

And so we went before the judge this week and he reviewed all of the case.

The state presented a few things that were kind of, objection to what she was claiming in some of the reports that they had done and that she was supposed to testify that day.
0:58
They wanted to put her on the stand for that.

Can you just share briefly what you were doing in Washington DC and what you're continuing to do?
7:35
Yeah, it's very special to
7:36
me.
7:37
It's little things that people do.
7:39
I've been very blessed to have a really good support system and people that have loved me and cared for me and been there for me.
7:49
In it, we've found VOID, which is Victims of Impaired Drivers, and that's where I met Candy.
7:55
Um, and I don't know what I would do without them.
7:58
Um, they've given me community, um, and people to talk to about Maddox where I don't feel awkward talking about him and people who understand my pain, um, who've also lost children, parents, or all the things to in this, you know, like you can't say, oh, well, at least they're not suffering now.
