Ep.34 Fun Golf in Scotland

Just looking at, um, Trump's golf contribution in Scotland, I mean, Turnberry is phenomenal, and the two courses in Aberdeen, the new one I played it first time last year, it is absolutely stunning.

But the number of folk say to me, "I'm not gonna go and play it, I'm not gonna go and play it 'cause of Mr. Trump." My take is put Mr.

Trump to bed, whatever you want to do with him, but, you know, he... a lot of money's been spent.

You've got two courses in both locations which are fabulous golf courses.

They bring a lot of money to the Scottish golf economy.

They employ a lot of people, so the massive contribution.

So yes, people do things that are not so good, people do things that are good.

So my view is ignore the guy who's put all the money in, if you don't like him, but go and look after the staff.

Talk to the friendly staff down there, and you'll have a wonderful experience.

And, um, I think Trump is being taken off what's going on, all the rest of it, so you don't really have to think about him.

But I mean, your take on those two sets of two golf courses.

No, indeed.

Ab- yeah, absolutely fantastic.

I think, uh, you know, the Ailsa course was always one of my favorites, um, and the changes that they made, you know, 10 or so years ago now and then the more recent changes have only served to enhance the, the, the experience there.

Um, as you say, the, the staff are always wonderful.

Uh, he's got a wonderful team of people led the, led by Nick, Nick Oldham down there at, at Turnberry.

Uh, and again, you know, this week's not been bad either, Malcolm.

I was up, uh, I, I was up at Trump, uh, up, up at Aberdeenshire on Monday and played the new course there.

I hadn't played the new course before, so, uh, [laughs] it's a tough life this, isn't it? Um, so-

I'm getting je- I'm not jealous.

I'm not jealous.

[laughs] Hadn't played the new course there, so it was good to see that for the first time on Monday.

Um, and again, you know, it's...

I, I, I, I t- I, I'd, I'd heard some, you know, not criticism per se, but I think, um, uh, you know, probably people comparing the, the, the newer course with the older course up at, up at, at Trump Aberdeen.

Um, and it, it's, it's gonna be difficult to hit the highs of, of the old, the older course.
