WWE Money in the Bank 2026 is this weekend and we’re here to break it down like only we can! We talk does LA Knight have a chance against Roman Reigns, who should win the MITB briefcases, who would…
But before we start there, I got a question for you.
I was thinking about Money in the Bank over the last few days, and I actually had you pull it, and you pulled it.
Um, looking at the winners over the last five years-
Okay
... for Money in the Bank.
2021, on the men's side we had Big E, on the women's side we had Nikki A.S.H. 2022, we had Austin Theory and Liv Morgan win the briefcase.
And we got some news about Drew, too, that we'll talk about on next week's pod, on his return and which show he looks to be returning to, and how I'm very excited for it and for him.
If anybody remembers, and everybody I'm sure remembers, Money in the Bank really kind of started as, like, that jumping-off point from maybe mid-card, upper mid-card to this guy, this girl is the next main eventer, hopefully main eventer, and this is the way we're going to propel them.
Kind of like what it used to be back in the day around the Intercontinental title.
Once you got done doing everything around that IC title and you dropped it, okay, we know it's time now for you to challenge for that Heavyweight Championship.
But looking at those names, that's the last five years.
Do you think the Money in the Bank still creates stars where they're looking at trying to get more main eventers, or do you think for the last five years they've used it more to elevate a particular storyline at that time?
I think it's somewhere between the middle of that.
I do believe it's about taking that person to the next level, but m- not nec- necessarily the main card, a top of the card position.
But I don't feel like it's also only because of a storyline either.
So I think it's somewhere in between the two of those.
But if I had to say and pick one, I would probably go with the former, um, just 'cause I feel like when we s- get a Money in the Bank winner outside of, like, a veteran winning, usually that's about to now bring them up into, like you mentioned with the IC Championship, to the Heavyweight Championships.
Yeah, and that could sound like a answer that you just don't wanna give a real answer.
Could be a cop-out.
But look at these last five years.
Each year, one person was kind of bubbling and getting hot, and the other was a mainstream, main known person in WWE.
