Eddie Hearn has officially locked down one of boxing's most explosive talents, but

Did Matchroom just secure the new face of boxing, or does Boots still need that career-defining superstar victory to help him cross over? Now, this episode and this news isn't simply about a new contract.

It's about who controls the next generation of boxing superstars, and whether Eddie Hearn can deliver undisputed at 154 pounds, and whether Jaron Ennis can turn an undisputed match into dominance and genuine crossover stardom.

Can he become the star that Matchroom needs to take them into the next 10 years of USA Boxing? This is what we're here to discuss.

Jaron Boots Ennis has officially signed an extension for a seven-fight Matchroom deal.

Now, what we know from history is that fighters of this caliber fight twice a year.

So with a seven-fight deal, Boots is got about a three years and a half with Eddie, unless he does three fights per year, then it's two fights and a half, or two fights and a quarter, right? Like a quarter of a year.

But for the most part, he's got the next few years with Eddie Hearn, Matchroom Boxing, and DAZN which for Ennis, it's an enormous statement.

Eddie Hearn didn't just renew his contract, he made a statement to the entire boxing world, specifically his rival Dana White, that Matchroom intends to build its American future around Jaron Boots Ennis.

Today, the news broke that Ennis signed this seven-fight extension with Matchroom.

Ennis is a young 29-year-old Philadelphia sensation with 36 wins, no losses, 32 coming by way of knockout.

Now, these seven fights won't cross him over into the history-breaking 50-fight threshold, but this seven-fight extension could mean another possible extension with Eddie Hearn.

The question is whether Hearn can turn an exceptional fighter into a genuine box office attraction.

He came from the streets of Philly and the club shows of Philly, being a Philadelphia prospect to a two-division king, and his joint Matchroom back in 2024 when his career did a complete 360.

With all his time spent with Espinosa and Showtime, he wasn't able to accomplish everything that he's been able to accomplish under his run with Eddie Hearn.

That run with Eddie Hearn includes a fifth-round stoppage of David Avanesyan in a historical purse bid winning for Matchroom and Ennis.

A unanimous decision over Karen Chukhadzhian back in November, and then a six-round stoppage of Amantis Thanonius in April 2025 to unify the welterweight titles.

After moving to 54, Boots destroyed Ussy Malima in one round, snatched his WBA regular and I believe the IBO.
