David Benavidez

I think they said, um, There's a fight coming up in December where somebody...

Benavidez? I mean, who's he fighting? Not Benavidez.

It was somebody else.

I forget.

Did

Benavidez...

Did he fight Zerto already?

Yes.

So if Jermall couldn't get in, Jermall is definitely not going to.

But David Benavidez has confirmed he is staying at Cruiserweight.

His words were moving on from B-Hole and Canelo.

It's possible that he's moving his fight to December 5th to not clash with Fury AJ.

Okay.

um benavides has hinted at a three fight deal that he is uh yeah working on i don't think it's anything's confirmed but uh one of them is better bf who has gone out of his way to pursue a fight at cruiserweight with benavides so props to him for not you know ducking or avoiding it um opetia and alexander usik And Benavidez is looking like he's going to re-sign with PBC, but he will be leaving Samson and will be fighting under the David Benavidez promotions banner.

All the fighters are going to have their own promotions.

Yeah, no shit.

It comes from training a lot, you know what I'm saying? Every day, every day, like two times a day.

running in the morning you know boxing in the night you know what i'm saying so you always your body is ready and also i like the mexican monster david benavidez okay i like his style like he threw a lot of punches like i like his style and i see him like I hope to fight him one day, bro.

Really?

Bro.

So I remember the feeling of, okay, I'm going to this one, I'm going to that one, I'm going to this one, I'm doing this one.

And I certainly don't do that anymore so it does feel like from my own personal standpoint they've slowed down but i think the bigger point you made is maybe it turkey's a massive boxing fan and he wanted to make fights that almost seemed impossible to make dream fights fights that we wanted What are the super fights now to make? There's only maybe, and when I think of it now in my head, even to the extent Benavidez off a tire, it's not a super, it's a great fight and I can't wait for it.

I don't know if it's a super fight.

So I almost feel like he wanted to make the super fights, Bivol Baturbia, AJ Fury, Fury Usyk.

Unfortunately, given this division has such great heritage, the super middleweight division, we seem to be bereft of great fighters in it.

We've lost Benavidez up two weight classes now because I think we've all suggested that Canelo Alvarez didn't particularly want to fight him, so he went out of that division.

We've just seen Hamza Shiraz, for a variety of reasons, vacate his belt because he doesn't want to take the fight that was offered in front of him because primarily, I suspect, because the money isn't good enough.

Are we still looking at, Paul, Canelo being the best boxer in that once stellar division that doesn't seem to have that many names bouncing around that get you excited?

That's a good question.

I actually don't know.

I think, obviously, if you're at that weight and you're struggling, you think you can move up and you've got the frame for it, like my brother Callum did, like Benavidez has done, like Gilberto Ramirez did and a few others did.

Obviously, they went even further because they had massive, huge frames.

Yeah, yeah, he's picking and choosing.

Look, he picked champion in Billy, not champion Benavidez, right? He picked champion in

Billy.

He picked champion in Billy.
