First of all, Leah, obviously, a great title win.
What are your feelings just for Alex to be able to get over the line and finally do it this time?
I mean, obviously, incredibly happy for her that she finally...
I mean, she has been threatening in the sense like she has reached the latter stages of a lot of tournaments this year.
And last year, she got her first WTA final.
And this time, she had another chance to get it.
to get a title under her belt so honestly just really happy to see her progress and especially continuing the momentum that she had from Wimbledon right like where she reached the fourth round and of course there's a surface change you don't know how someone will play after the break but she was able to really continue her good form from the grass season to now the hard courts
Yeah, that's a good point, obviously, about the little break and the change of surface, because obviously she came from a good run at Wimbledon and then went back to the Philippines, right? And probably there's a little bit of a gap there because she maybe had some other commitments, maybe not too much time on the court, and then obviously coming to the US to play in Washington and get used to those hard courts.
Yeah, so maybe some question marks about whether she'd hit the ground running, but I mean, in the end, obviously a great week for her.
