Isaiah 13-35

Hello, fellow teachers.

This has been Wilcox, and welcome to Teaching with Power.

This week, we're going to be studying Isaiah chapters 13 through 35.

And in this video, I'm going to walk you through three complete lesson options, each one designed to fit within approximately 25 minutes.

And as we go, listen for the lesson that feels like the best fit for your students or what you feel they might need most this week.

And before we jump in, I do want to acknowledge the recent direction that we've been receiving about the new Sunday school format, particularly the increased emphasis on class members sharing what they've learned at home and the teacher serving more as a facilitator of that discussion.

And I'm aware that this may have some implications for the way that teaching with power materials should look and be used going forward.

For now, I'm going to continue with this format and while I listen, watch how these changes work in actual classrooms, and receive more feedback from you.

I know that many of you use these materials in different ways, in different settings, for different purposes.

So I want to be thoughtful and I want to be prayerful about what teaching with power should become, rather than just rushing into a quick decision.

And I really would love to hear from you.

As you begin working with this new approach, please let me know how you're using these materials.

What continues to be helpful? What might no longer be a good fit? And what would be the way that I could best support you going forward? Your feedback is going to be very important as I figure out what these changes mean for Teaching with Power in the future.

For this week, you're going to find the scripture insight and teaching activities together within each lesson.

I'll give you the context, explanations, questions, visuals, instructions on how to teach it.

And I'll also include a few optional ideas for teachers or parents who have more time or want to try a different approach.

And if you'd like even more insight or additional ideas for these chapters, I'll put a link in the video description to the Isaiah video that I created four years ago.

Those lessons and those principles are still applicable today.

That being said, let's take a look at three ways that we might teach from Isaiah chapters 13 through 15 this week.
